What plans have you made?

I'm so fed up with winter but I'm dreaming of overnights, short weekends, long weekends, weeks and fortnights away over the coming months. It'll be our first summer with a MH and I've promised myself it's not going to stay parked in our drive any more than it has to! So far we're planning SW France in June and Skye (via Hadrians Wall) in September. What's on your list for this summer?

Has things stand, around the 15 th March I will depart for France and possibly be back the end of November.

The good news is from march onwards it is unlikely I will post.

The bad news is at the end of November I shall return intrafrinsically ;)

Well I might if I work out what it means

We are off to Spiers house in N.Yorks tommorrow as it's my birthday!

Oooh lucky you! Love France!

(now off to look for the dictionary!!)

Plans for the year:
Off on Friday morning, heading south probably Portugal back on April 28th. Daughters wedding May (apparently we are supposed to be there ) Then need to fit a trip to Brittany (haven't been there for 5 or 6 years) keep promising to go so we have decided it has to be this year. Not sure if we will come back before we go to the Dusseldorf show (missed it last year) need to check out what's coming for next year. Then before we know it we need to start heading south again, might go earlier this time as we got fed up with the snow this year.

Somewhere in between all this need to find a nice cruiser I promised myself.

So not much really same old stuff  you people don't realize how tough being retired is, just don't get time to take a break. ;)

You can always do like I do & find a McDonalds to keep us informed. The best thing is you don't even have to go in the place.

Hi, 13th May off to Italy "visiting" family. Going via Lake Konstanz to take in the floral display on mainau island, then after visit we will meandering around southern France before returning on the 24th June. At least that was the plan before yesterday. When being the romantic soul I am I took Madam to a fancy Bournemouth hotel for a Valetines lunch. Beautiful setting overlooking the bay, food wonderful, Russian waitresses attentive & the wine - Ah the whine £6.25 for a large glass of red !! My last two white fivers finally gone.
Dezi p.s. For the younger sprogs on this forum who do not know what a white fiver is / was ask your Dad

This weekend Leek
April off to Holland
In between and after wilding, need some new dates and meets boys and girls.

Later off to France for a couple of weeks maybe make plans with Zeezee this weekend to spend a couple of days with them in N France on the way south.

Busy year as already said we have no intention of leaving the van on the drive more than a couple of weekends at a time
:D :D

I remember my dad showing me a white fiver, it was the most money any of us had ever seen  it looked massive. In 1950 value it would be worth today £113.90 OLD MONEY TO NEW in terms of what it could buy.

Think though what it could have bought then . I remember my first drink in a pub (at 16) a pint of mild & it cost 10d (about 4 pence new money)

Bought my first car a mark 1 Zephyr 6 for £27 10s, didn't have to bother with MOT's in them days or the breathalyser. Tyres were that bald they looked like slicks, a Crawfords biscuit tin covered a hole in the wing (could tell it was Crawfords as whoever did it used the bit of the tin with the embossed name on it)

Global warming

In view of the this fantastic weather due global warming will be fitting extra heating as main planning!

Only then can planning on where to go this year!

:D;)

Off to John O' Groats via Skye for 2 weeks in May and also hope to have short trips to Tyneham, Somerset, Cornwall, East Sussex, London ('wilding' behind a friend's flat!), Norfolk, Suffolk and every 3rd weekend in Pembrokeshire. I'm also hoping to get to a 'meet' this year - probably not Ogmore due to working on the Saturday.

With the exception of Scotland, my jaunts have to be restricted to 2 nights away while OH remains behind to feed the 4-legs so I have to cram as much as possible into each trip.

Hey, Kontiki..we'll be hot on your tail down to Portugal. we go over on the tunnel on Fri 26th...back on 25th April.
Do you know where you will be overnighting on your way down?, and which route are you taking across Spain into Portugal?
Don't know where we will be once we in Portugal, only know we have to be near Faro for 20th March..meeting our daughter & hubby to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary on 28th March.
oooohhhh!! sooo excited !!

Jackie ;)

sorry i'm in one of those moods. :):)

We are booked on tunnel for 6:50am, but intend to get there sometime after midnight so might get bumped onto an earlier one. Drive down the motorway to the Auchan at Boulougne, get fuel, food & a bit of rest. Hoping to get down to around Rouen, found an aire listed at Oissel (about 140 miles). After that set the Tomtom for somewhere like Capbreton (about 450 miles) then see how far we get. Might have another stop over if either the weather is good or we are tired. Again if weather is ok might have a day or two rest then across Spain stopping at the aires in San Sebastian, Vitoria-Gastiez, Palencia, & maybe Salamanca. Then onto Portugal, no clear plans where we are going when we get there, a lot depends on what the weather is like.

Stayed at Faro last year on an island near the airport, FARO there is a narrow bridge with a weight limit of 3.5t  our van is 3850kg. but there were bigger vans than us there. It was very windy so only stayed a couple of days.

Just looked & not really an island.
