What Have I Done?

Well, I sold my lovely motorhome three weeks ago as our daughter is just no longer interested and the van fetched more money than she would have done.

After about three days I was missing the ability to escape, and so last week I went to Northampton to buy a partially converted Ford Transit minibus. To say the person had cut corner is a massive understatement - the base vehicle is fantastic, but the fittings,while looking good, do not withstand scrutiny at all.

We go away to Anglesey on Friday to give it its first outing. I've finished installing mains electricity today to run off a generator (sorry, I'm on a tight budget!!!!) I've also partially refurbished the rear seating so we don't end up on the floor. On our return I aim to strip the inside, rebuild all frames properly, relocate the kitchen to make space for a toilet.

Our daughter is being forced to suffer this journey, but future journeys could see her deposited with friends or family for a few nights while the boss and I enjoy a trip away.

Lovely to drive back and get 38 mpg though!

I'll keep you posted with any progress.

wel by doing it yourself you at least know it is what you want and is up to your standards wish i had room here to do that and would have a go as it would be something i would attempt to do as long as i kept it in small manageable pieces just do a bit then have a break wish you all the luck with it
