What a laugh.

Looks like he has a motorcycle trailer on. Probably easier to reverse the caravan.
We all know tag axles don't go backwards very well but a trailer on the back as well. Whats he going to do if the other vehicle cannot reverse. We met a Skip Lorry and he said there was no way he could reverse back as there were cars parked on both sides of the road and he had just managed to squeeze through.

It should be no problem in reversing a Tag Axle towing a single axle trailer. The major mistake he made however was to pull left, tight into the hedge. This restricted his options greatly if he needed to reverse.

Exactly why I have stuck with the same motorhome with a scooter rack on the back for 16 years. Bike trailer must be tricky as you probably can't see it. Caravan should be easy enough to reverse though. Lack of experience maybe If they only use it a few weeks a year

We met one in Devon trying to reverse back up a narrow lane. He had got to a sharp 90 degree bend and just couldn't get round it. Finished up opening a farmers gate and reversing into a very rough field.

I am sorry but I fail to see what's "funny" about this..
it would be my worse nightmare trying to reverse even with the Hydra Trail bike rack on the back..

The guy in the Motorhome evidently cannot reverse

The guy with the Motor home has a shorter trailer which is a lot harder to reverse than a caravan, and also has more limited rear vision.
Maybe the easiest solution is to detach the caravan and use the motor mover, or remove the trailer and push it.

The situation puts me in mind of the classic "Impass" with Bernard Cribbins. and Leslie Phillips.
This wonderful comedy is based on a question . A Roller and a Mini meet head on on a single track road. The rear of the Roller is nearer the lay-by behind it than the rear of the Mini is to the one behind it BUT the front of the Mini is nearer the lay-by behind it than the Front of the Mini is to the one behind it. Which vehicle is nearer to a layby?

for smaller trailers it helps a lot to clamp a stick witha flag each side that you can see in the mirrors . small trailers can be a nightmare

I think we have all seen motorists who can't even reverse a car let alone a MH and trailer.
I can remember three occasions of reversing a car for incompetent drivers. Nothing implied here but, sorry to say, two were older women and one was a guy who I'm convinced was dug up from his grave the night before. The guy nearly drove over a 100' bank twice, his poor wife was screaming her head off in fear.

Hands up, I'm crap at reversing small trailers.

I don't know if any one else on here has done the same as me and followed their sat nav to the CAMC site near Boscastle and ended up going down a really tight lane for mile after mile with no passing places 🤭. 2/3 the way down we met a young girl driving her car with her friend. I got out (only just it was that tight) and asked her to back up because I hadn't passed a gateway for over a mile. she said she would but "she wasn't very good at reversing" so she'd have to go slowly. I thanked her and told her to take her time and there was no hurry. She proceeded slowly backwards for about four feet and straight into the hedge. Fortunately her friend took over otherwise I think I'd still be there.

I would rather reverse a caravan than a short trailer. The bigger the distance between the tow hitch and the axle of the trailer the easier it gets to reverse without the trailer over reacting.

The worst things to reverse is a two axle trailer where the front one is a steering axle. Like Farm trailers.

There is only one way to do it ...... practice, practice, practice. :giggle:

Some years ago we used to deliver Winnebago type motorhomes to race tracks each with a generator trailer, kin nightmare if you had to reverse.

It was easier to drop the jockey wheel, detach the generator and push it.

But the worse I ever had was a Mercedes tractor unit with an auto gearbox and a 13.6m trailer, reversing uphill on the blindside, just wouldn’t push the trailer at a controllable speed, either wouldn’t move or would move so fast you had no control. Took me maybe 45mins to get on the loading bay, felt such an idiot. Took it back to the hire company and explained how much I hated the thing, the guy took me back to the unit and showed me the button that activated the drop down clutch 🤬
