What a couple of days

Started yesterday when we decided to move on from Estanyet Camping. It’s a really nice campsite near Alcanar. We needed some gas so consulted MyLpg.Eu and picked one nearby. Arrived and no sign of Autogas just a pile of bottles. Had another look and decided to head towards Grau near Castellon. Set out for MyLpg location and looks like the Repsol Garage has been pulled down. There is a sign there saying there is a Garage in 800m but no sign of it. Checked again and next one was out at sea. So headed for one inland. Arrived to find a white van parked by the Autogas pump. As the driver got out he pointed to the sign on the pump. He had come to fix it. So instead of staying at the Aire in Grau we headed towards Valencia looking for a Repsol Garage with a white tank. There is one on the dual carriageway on the way in.

So the app MyLPG.eu is really a waste of space. Only problem is loads of other sites use the same info. We have had problems in the Uk so it’s not an isolated instance.

SWMBO has been complaining the last couple of days about the water pump switching on and off frequently during the night so this afternoon in 30 degrees decided to investigate. Turns out the pressure vessel is leaking and by the look of it been leaking for a long while. There was white lime powder down the sides. So took it to bits with the help of a Frenchman who speaks no English and me no French and we have cleaned it and glued it back together with Sikaflex

Will wait and see what it’s like in the morning. For now we have no water

Good job we are in a hot climate the floor in the garage needs drying out.

I thought these mylpg listings are updated by the people who try to use them so to keep the listings as current as poss.If you find a closed one you can leave a comment saying as much on the mylpg page

If you're in France there is a reliable resource to find GPL ...

Prix des carburants en France, site gouvernemental

It's a government website to allow you to locate all types of fuel and to compare prices.

It's always up-to-date and reliable.

Regarding your accumulator, it's a high pressure vessel so I am not certain that your repair will hold.

The accumulator isn't essential so if it continues to leak I would remove it and just plumb a straight through connection.

It seems the water system has been working fine without it but the pipes are to short to join together. They have used push on connectors so will try the fix first then a MH service place we found last year or plumbing dept at DIY store on Monday

Used to stay in Bennicasim, and when we needed gas, we went to Valencia, to a Taxi place (sorry don't know the address) It was a good opportunity to give the van a decent run and get off the site for a day.

The pressure valve in my mum and dads van started to leak also , I removed it and just connected the pipes together with some 15mm copper pipe and jubilee clips , and it has work ok for the past 12 months

Only just spotted this thread. We also like estanyet ,just wondered if he,s still adding €1 to the acsi rate.Ok at last years rate but we passed at the €19 this year.I always get my lpg at amposta or javea if you,re heading that way. It,s in my lpg if not I can find them for you.Currently at tauro benicassim.

That does sound like an eventful couple of days! Hopefully that's your run of bad luck over for the time being though. I'm very jealous of your weather and I love Valencia. Hopefully you can just get on with enjoying yourself now.

Mmmn

Running repairs will happen !

This year
1) The original waste water valve and subsequent plastic piping "Disappeared" probably due to a bumpy gravel track and them the persistent ridges every 10metres on the M25
Real difficulty finding suitable fittings and ended up with push fit connections of much less diameter.
This lasted until an grounding while exiting a campsite in Sicily
2) Go some more fittings(household) from a hardware store
Managed to get a watertight drain and supported it with wire and cable-ties.

In have sourced suitable items here in Thailand
a) 40 mm to 32 mm reducer
b) suitable joints and in particular a valve (32 mm 90deg twist to open and close)
c) Other items to support it (more substantial than wire and cableties)

It will be awkward to fit although I have tools
May use yellow blocks and Jacks
May go to a ramp renting garage

We also had 2 problems with our fridge on gas

1 new burner required 160 euros in Naples

2 Gas control valve failed New valve fitted in Trier

C'est La vie (En Campingcar)

We stayed 12 nights at Estanyet and it was €19 a night but we got a discount of 10% so not too bad and they do have a nice pool. Moved down past Valencia to La Finca Aire at Tavernes which is €8 a night or €7 if you stay 4 nights.

Found a Repsol Station that sold LPG on the dual carriageway into Valencia.

The leaking Fiamma unit seems to have stopped leaking after glueing it back together with Sikaflex glue. The stuff certainly sticks to plastic. What a crap design. It has a rubber bladder inside that sits between the two halves. You clean everything tighten the screws up round the edge and it leaks. Think this one must have been leaking ever since it’s been in there. Luckily the only damage I can find is a small piece of the floor has come unglued from the insulation. As it’s buried in the garage behind a panel think I will just leave it alone. It’s not supporting anything and it’s only a small piece around a hole.
