Whale water heater connections

I have just found a small leak in the cold water inlet pipe to my Whale water heater. It seems to be the push fit connecter . Before I cause lots more issues I want to check how the push fit connectors work. How do I pull out the pipe without damage?
There are two pipes connected to the screw-in right angle connector, As this screw-in connector appears to be inaccessible without removing the whole unit I am hoping to improve the push fit seal without disturbing it. The problem seems to be with the one coming towards my battery box with a single black 90 deg connector.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

The end of the fitting pushes back into the main body and releases the pipe grips so you can then pull it off. You must hold it back whilst removing it from the pipe. More than likely the Oring in the fitting is knackered and a new fitting required, especially if it has not been disturbed or left empty for a good while. It is possible to change the Orings in them,

Thank you. I hoped that was the right thing to do but needed to be sure. Not easy to get at but putting a new o ring looks the best route to try.

Just buy a new elbow it's far easier than messing about with the O rings.

They can be a bit temperamental too, mine have leaked before, reassembling the joint fixed mine
