Welsh aires?

Looks promising.

Years back we`ve stayed at Caernarfon, Llanberis and Criccieth without any problems but that was before they were ruined by all the inconsiderate poppets.

Wouldn`t dream of doing it now but once / if these get up and running we`ll try again.

This has all the hallmarks of what is going on in Fife. I know and understand why some don’t like this type of thing. But with the increased numbers of vans out there and the reduction of available places to park, I feel this is the only solution. They will have issues of over use, and they will require to be patient particularly at the early stages. But most importantly they will have to adopt the same attitude that Fife Countryside Trust have, that we add to local economies. Fife don’t see us as a problem to be dealt with, they see us as an opportunity to improve local businesses. If Gwynedd council don’t adopt this approach I can see issues. Their biggest problem as is the case of Fife is areas around them being anti Motorhome. Fife has become a magnet for us now, particularly during summer months. If only other councils were more imaginative and forward thinking, then this would take some of the pressure of Fife. But I applaud Gwynedd for what they are doing, and I hope that abuse by some of us is kept to a minimum, and we can enjoy these facilities for years to come.

The only drawback I see are the words in the report
IF PLANNING PERMISSION IS GIVEN

Before a county council make such proposals they would normally consult with their planning dept. The planning committee may well make some stipulations or recommendations, but I would be surprised if they went totally against these issues. The biggest risk would be their consultation with locals. But again it’s likely that the council will have taken cognisance of this. But the largest risk may come from over representation from a minority of nimbys. But I would be very surprised if this did not go forward with or without minor stipulations aboard.

From experience the biggest risk would be the local conservation person and people from the ANOB...
Just have to hope the areas dont come under their jurisdiction.
