Exactly, but many members dont do it, bit like waving, pleasentries and good manners costs nothing

one of the main reasons i left london was because people are so rude its a bit better were i am now but im packing up a going again after my wedding latter this year :) off to cornwall i go :drive:

If you have a Camper/Motorhome, (anything with a bed, toilet and kitchen) Cornwall welcomes you.☺☺☺ I came from Germany and Cornwall welcomed me when they saw I arrived with a removal van and me close behind with my motorhome. Been here 7 1/2 years and love it.

well here i is, a 'lurking' newbie, been too shy to introduce myself.
I have been a camper all my life, vans, cars, motorcycles & motor homes. i am now 154.(!)....anyway i just can't get enough of it & currently i have a Suzuki Carry in which i carry my equipment. This way i have the advantage of a changeable interior according to my needs at the time. Also i can go to the tip without ruining any fittings.
One trip i went on with my dad in the '70's included camping in the wild in Kenya, the route took us to the border with Sudan, what an incredible experience that was! 3 days there, coupla days by Lake Turkana & 4 days back.
I have seen wild camping become more prohibited over the last 35 years in the U.K & it saddens me greatly, therefore i head for France or Spain whenever i can afford it, it is so much more acceptable.
My last big trip was on my Triumph TT100, one of the new ones, i grabbed the tent & went thru Spain, Portugal & Morocco........ so i can't wait for the next trip....2 weeks in Brittany would do for me right now!
Anyway, i have been hiding in the background enjoying the many posts, checking the spots for the day, laughing aloud at some of the wickedly chronic jokes, soaking up trip blogs, eyeballing the phots of trips & vehicles & relishing every visit, so my people assert your Right to Roam, get them barbies going & keep the tanks topped up!

I'm ashamed to say that I've been guilty of not welcoming new members up to now :( It's truly not because I'm rude or unfriendly... it's just that I've been here such a short time I assumed it would be overly pushy to presume do the welcoming, so I left it to longer-standing members. You're absolutely right though KBB... I'll make sure I offer a handshake to newbies from now on :)

this is one of the reasons why i did the thread, it took me ages to welcome anybody, i was scared too, lol, but i think its really nice and it helps newish newbies feel welcome, i dont think its totally rude, some people are shy, but nobody has to be shy on here, we are all here to share our experiences and the love we all seem to have for MH's
