Webasto heater?

Our webasto dual-top keeps cutting out. (Burstner Travel Van) Gives a 5 red-flash malfunction signal. Have checked the fuses, can find the ones adjacent to the leisure battery, but can't find the other pair, which should be in the cupboard. Have also checked the input fan, no blockage there. Our service agent can't see us until the end of the month, mobile agents don't seem to be familiar with Webasto. Any ideas? The heater seems to be heating the hot water, but cuts out when you switch on the hot air blowing.
Thanks,
David

Heater

Hi David,

If the problem is when the fan starts I would, switch all off and make sure it's safe, try spinning the fan to see/hear if it's running rough as it may be something caught on it or the shaft or bearings making it strain and it's cutting out as a safety feature.

Is it possible to take some access/cowling bits off and have a good look inside using a torch? any smell of burning electrics that would be a very acrid smell that may indicate that the motor is failing or that the brushes have worn to a point where they just ark causing a spark rather than the motor running. The ark'ng can cause a safety cut out to operate.

I have no experience with this system bit have found similar faults with other 'fan' items.

Have fun!
