Filled up my tank today, went through the procedure of clearing pipes of air by opening tapes from cold then hot to pump out the air. I find that the water from the taps in kitchen, bathroom and toilet flush only trickle out. The pump is definitely working. I have read through similar posts about this problem. 1) Blockage 2) dead Pump. 3) Pump though working is going on the blink. Any advice would be appreciated.

we had that problem on our new van, pump was buzzing away but the water was spluttering,it turns out that it had been running dry and melted the vanes internally,we put a "whale"highflow on at forty quid from perthshire caravans,we now get a very good shower but it fairly drinks the water..

HI David,
You are supposed to have the taps on hot first to fill the boiler, and then turn to cold after the hot tap is running freely!
I had a water pump go down and it was still pumping, but not enough, so t could be the pump

Graham, I don't need to fill up the boiler in my T.E.C MH. According to the book, cold then hot and it should be okay. I have hot air heating system. I notice that my pump has 0.5 bar, perhaps it has lost some power in pumping. Can I put in a slightly more powerful pump or will that keep blowing the fuse???

Pumps

Three years ago I had the same problem.
Before winter I carefully drained everything, boiler... name it.
And when I filled it up in spring the whole system sputtered and the pump was turning mad. Disconnected the whole system; got the pump apart....
As far as I know you can drain the whole system; but there is allways water remaining in the pump. It evaporates and leaves a slimy chalk residue which will block somewhat the membranes and the switch.
Next year I drained the boiler and the fresh-watertank, left a bottom in it and added a few spoons of salt. (My MH is overwintering in open air). Never had a problem since. Even when it freezes like hell the only fragile part is the boiler; when you drain that you're safe. All the rest are plastic tubes which can stand frost and the pump can stand to a -10°C (with salt water) inside !
(they don't even have that in Siberia).
If you drained completely: allow 10 minutes for the system to fill up completely, with both (and all) taps open.
If this doesn't work have a hang on the tap of the next pub.:D
