Has anyone tried stick on heaters for underslung water tanks. We have just changed our motorhome after 19 years and assumed the new van would have the same as the old one. WRONG!
Any help would be grateful.

As Benny Hill once said you should never assume because it makes a ass out of U & a ass out of ME.
Not sure about stick on heaters but internal elements i have seen at low wattage, have a look on ebay.
The 'heaters' that Autosleepers put on their tanks are stick- on things. They cover about 1/8 of the base of the tank, leaving 98% of the outside of the tank open to the air. Also the 'air' side of the 'heater' is not insulated, just as the tank is not insulated. They are yet another of the absurd showroom gimmicks that are deployed nowadays to fool the gullible.
If it makes you happy, just stick a 6" x 4" self adhesive plastic heater element on the underside of the tank, wire it to a switch and there, you have what you would have got if an AutoSleeper had come equipped with it.
Actually here is a 12" x 17" one for £26. You wouldn't get one that big if it was added in the factory. It's 60Watts, so you will need some significant power source to run it. But the grass underneath would grow well . . . .

Our freshwater tank is inboard, and described as 'semi-winterised'. The Frost Stat will empty the fresh tank when the air temperature falls below 10 degrees, so we set the blown air heating on the Truma to fire up at 12 or 13 degrees; warm enough to deal with the tank contents dumping threat, but nowhere warm enough to stop us sleeping because of the heat [3am bathroom visit still regsiters on the 'pure Baltic' scale ...
Problem with heater water tanks is bugs start to grow in them, best to use a few 5 ltr camping containers kept inside and empty the outside tanks until summer comes around.
