So today was the day we mounted the camper onto the truck for the summer, in preparation for a trip this week (hoping the weather picks up) Then it's commission the systems starting with water.

Almost no water out of the taps. the pump is making the usual noise but little water and lots of air. Here is the water pump it sits on top of the water tank.

I eliminated a plumbing issue by just connecting a length of house to the pump output, and that just pumped very little water and lots of air.

I feared it was the pump had failed. But thankfully not. In the input side there is a strainer filter. It turns out this has cracked. This is on the vacuum side so the crack was letting air in and stopping it sucking water out of the tank.

I have done a crude temporary fix with some tape and a jubilee clip to hold the crack tight and it is now working so we are good to go on our trip this week.

The job when we get back is to replace the filter, here is a closer photo.

My job when we get back is find an identical replacement, or find a different inlet fitting for the pump that will just take a hose, so I can replace it with any in line filter.

So any ideas please?
