Evening everyone, I need to redo my water tank. Whats the best solution to use? in your opinion or experience.
Yes all the above and also a cap full of Milton in a full tank will keep the water sweet, pundits will say Milton can damage the Stainless Steel in the water heater but I have used this method for over 40 years with no problems, your choice, also ASDA sell a water sterilizing tablet for pennies in the Baby products aisle, there own brand, I drop a couple of these in the tank from time to time, the instructions tell you this to make dodgy water good this way.One method is to use a Milton solution. Part fill the tank and go for a drive to splosh it about. Then thoroughly flush out with fresh water until you cannot smell any Milton.

Or go to a boating shop and get their brand, probably the same thing but umpteen times the price!!
Why are you sterilizing the tank?? I did mine just after I'd bought it and three years later, the water is still sweet, but I do use it a lot and empty the tank before refilling (well most times!!)
It all depends on where you get your water from as to the need to add anything to it, if you are only getting water from your main supply or from Campsite main supply you are petty sure the water is good, but if you take water from public toilets, cemeteries beach showers etc you can not be so sure so it makes sense to add something to it from time to time, so a drop of Milton as per instructions on the bottle doesn't hurt and doesn't taste when used, or a sterilizing tablet or two dropped into a full tank and allowed to dissolve and stand for half hour doesn't taste either and you can be sure your water is OK to use, We don't drink the water from our vans tank, we have 5 litre plastic bottles for drinking water , the tank is used for everything else from cleaning teeth to washing Salad and Veg,showering and washing.
