Hi all. and Merry Christmas !

Just a Q?
Ive just gone out and started me motorhome up (do it every 2-3 days as its now put away for this cold winter were having!) ive opened all the taps and just tried the water pump switched it on and nothing! not evan power!( all electrics ok) i know it was working a few days ago! so does thease 'extream -temp' stop it working if its frozen??

Any ideas Thanx Guys?;)

Yes, if the pump had any water in it will most likely be frozen which will usually stop it working.

Use a blow drier on it to thaw out any water in the pump. Once that is done, try it out. It should work. If water is properly thawed and it doesn't work, then a new water pump is your next option. Make sure all fuses and connections are in order.

Water pump

If there is a filter attached to the pump you need to split it and drain the water out then reseal it and if your toilet flushes from the main water tank the valve usually freezes up due to its location. The toilet cassette isnt the easiest of areas to insulate from the freezing weather and is usually the first area to suffer. Whilst this freezing weather has been about it hasn't stopped us from rallying as I keep the main water tank and pipes empty and just carry water in containers and boil it on the stove, when the temperature rises I'll start filling the tank again. One thing that did happen last weekend was the engine management warning light came on and it refused to start, eventually it started and I managed to get home. I think it was due to the extreme freezing temperature. I booked it into my local Fiat agent for this Wednesday but since then it seems to have cleared itself so I'll give them a ring for advice just in case.

Hint: When you drain the water out, pull the pump fuse out. This way you can't accidently switch a frozen pump on and burn it out( it's really hard to get the last little bit of water out...). If you have a filter, take out the matrix and let it dry out - they're far to expensive to let them freeze.
