Water Pump Problem

I have a problem with the water pump on my 2 year old Rimor Katamarano. The pump is continuosly "pumping" and water is coming out at a high rate from an overflow pipe under the vehicle (with only a dribble coming from the tap).

The pump worked fine before winter storage and I correctly drained down the water system at the end of last season.

Any ideas what the problem migh be and how I can fix it?

Thanks

Have you made sure the drain valve is closed? Where is the overflow pipe? Is it from the water heater?

It sounds like the valve is not shut.

Thanks - I'm not sure but believe the overflow will be coming from the water heater (as it's located below where it is located). I haven't opened any drain valves so don't think this can be the problem?

hi you have a leak somewhere either a burst pipe or bad connection you will have to turn on the pump and trace the leak.

water leak

Hi if the temparature approaches 0 degrees the water heater automatically dumps its water you have to reset it by hand

There should be a red button on top of the heater that you pull up to reset

I had the same problem, It turned out that one of the pushfit joints had came apart under the shower tap, this gives the pump the impression that a tap is turned on. You just need to trace the leak.

Good luck.

Problem solved! It turned out to be a simple solution - all I had to do was close the boiler drain valve (I think it must have been left open when it had its annual habitation check!)
