For the last few months I have been busy with Hospital appointments and going up and down to Hertfordshire in-between, I am going back down there on Saturday for my MIL's 98th birthday so as I hadn't checked the van for a few months I went in it to give it a few miles on the road, unfortunately I have had a slight leak, I might need a bit of wood 🤔🤔🤔

Another fine mess I have got myself into 😭😭😭😭
Why is it that when you get over one problem there is another one waiting to happen?

A pain etc..
Make sure the source of the problem is found and dealt with.
i have spent a small fortune on 2 such repairs!
(November 2021 and 2022 and wayback in 2013...Do not ask !!!!)
No way I can do it myself as we use the vehicle al! the time when we are in uk.
no garage or tools etc !

Bloody hell Terry that doesn’t look good mate. Hope it’s an easy fix for you

I have found the source of the problem and started to remove the damaged panel, Hymers have closed cell insulation which the water doesn't affect so the damage is limited to the wooden inner panel, if it had been built with a wood frame like the old caravans were it would have been disastrous.
I have a few ideas but until I remove the vent and reseal it when I return home I will not be doing any repairs on the interior except removing the damaged area,

Heck, that would cause me a bowel movement, first job get a big tarp over it to stop the cupboards etc getting drenched, and tie it down to the wheels.

Is there a claim, house or van insurance, get something to fall on it? just plucking ideas out of the air.

It’s only reseal the skylight/vent then replace wallboard inside. To someone with Tezza’s skills it’s a simple job 👍

Ta, I don't know him and wouldn't assume anything, I can pretty much repair anything but that looks quite daunting to me.

Bloomin' 'eck young Terrence, that looks like a fun job I don't envy you in the least, but at least my friend you do have the talent to fix it
Enjoy 😭 🍷🍷🍷(y)
