They often seem to fit stents to both men and women. They are often fitted months before treatment of stones though because of time constraints. However Michelle had both the stent fitted and the stones destroyed / broken down. I gather if successful they can be completely broken down to almost dust or they sometimes grab little fragments in a little basket on the end of a probe thing.
Hers was pretty critical as there were two stones 9.5mm and 7mm blocking her Ureter.
Good luck with it all but as said, join that group for advice although its a double edged sword as there are some horror stories.
