Watching the Tour de France . . .

. . . on TV this afternoon & I have never seen so many motorhomes. Literally hundreds of them from all over Europe, all different sizes & styles, lining miles of roads in the mountains. The rest of France must be empty! :drive:

Been there, done that - and its great, a real party atmosphere and the whole country seemingly wildcamping. It doesn't get better than this - try it next year! :)
 
They say it's the biggest gathering of motorhomes in the world.

My wife has told me to take my son next year and follow it.
Problem is that it uses up my holidays.

I had a friend (keen cyclist) who went with a caravan every year until well into his 70's. He knew the main mountain climbs & had his favourite campsites. Him & his missus loved it for the party atmosphere. Plus, as a road racer, he knew exactly how dangerous those descents are. According to him, the whole thing is almost one big party!
