:( watch out for this new scam a collection agencey send you a letter saying sutch a company is reqesting payment and its been handed to them for collection if you dont pay it will add court cost and effect your credit, they dont ask for big sums ive had them for 100- 150 - 250 - 268 quid they have a payment SYSTEM if you phone the number they will accept credit/debit cards????

All i do is write on the letter scam reseal enverlope and put return to sender.

It seems they buy your details from other firms.

So please watch out and if you have elderly persons in your family make sure they dont fall for it.

:mad:my daughter had one two weeks ago it was from a solicitors saying she was being charged for down loading a song and wanted £500.25 the letter looked real but lots of bad wording and spelling and other thing s didnt add up.

And never phone them back even if you want to tell them to f__k off, the phone charges are about a £1 a second

Thats interesting.
We recently recieved one demanding just under £200 for unpaid gas for a two month period - thats more gas than we use in a year! We contacted the gas supplier and they assured us we didn't owe them anything. However, after writing to the debt collection company to tell them this they became very insistent and have only recently (after about three months and numerous nasty phone calls from them) stopped bothering us.
I can imagine less stubborn people would have paid the bill just to get them off their back
Be careful everyone!

with a tiny bit of cunning or intelligent detective work these low life scum are detectable but its much easier to harass the motorist i bet not 1 in a thousand of these scams result in a conviction
