waste pipe

Been away first time - my mind has gone blank is the waste water pipe the blue one or the grey one - My back is klling me I'll have to buy something soft to sleep on lol

On mine, blue is fresh, grey is waste.

Talking of waste pipes, mine has occasionally blocked. Lets of detergent and boiling water coupled with a plunger usually gets it going.

I'm concerned that I'm only doing a temporary fix, anyone tried the proprietary fixes like Mr Muscle sink & waste foam?? Or is it a case of removing the waste totally to hose out after soaking in concentrated detergent?

What about removing the sink unit and putting a hose on it there.

Any experiences?

Bad back, we invested in a memory foam topper from Aldi/Lidl something like that, makes such a difference, but we do have a fixed bed, so storage isn't an issue.

Thanks for that - plus the tv wouldnt work have built in aerial on top but tried every which way possible but couldnt get signal

Buy the cheapest orange squash, and pour some down the drains neat and leave it for some time, and the orange cleans and breaks up any waste food particles and keeps the waste and drains smelling fresh.

John.

Ps got this from an old post.

My waste tank was stinking after 5 months on site in Spain.

I put some Caustic Soda in a cup and topped it up with hot water and poured it down the sinks and ran all day with the water swilling around the tank to the next dump. The water came out thick and dark brown. I repeater the process on the road up through Spain and now the tank and pipes are sweet and clean and all of the pipes are running free.

I also used a commercial toilet descaler I bought while in Spain to remove the lime scale from the inside of the cassette. The mechanism was becoming a bit sticky to operate and you could see a deposit build up on the surfaces inside the cassette. I tried the Thetford stuff but it didn't do the job as well as the descaler. The mechanism is now working OK again and the cassette tank interior is as new. Having two cassettes I was able to leave them to soak for a couple of days turning and shaking them.

Thanks for answers, have taken JT solution and used caustic soda.

Probably a typo John, but never add water to caustic soda, ALWAYS add Caustic Soda to the water, same rule for acids.

The heat given off causes the water to turn to steam and can spray Alkali or Acid around, can even melt plastic containers!

Depending on what type of aerial you have, there could be a 12 volt signal booster in a cupboard that needs switching on.

Look in the area below where the aerial is.
