Wast Water.

Hi,
as anyone any up to date information on Wast Water in the Lakes? I read that no camping signs have been erected, and also on another thread that people are overnighting.
Would like to visit this lovely area within the next week or two, to do a little walking, also is the Hotel open? Thanks.

Hi Pioneer,
not exactly up to date info, but as for signs saying no overnighting/camping - there were loads in 2007, in fact there was one on every parking spot!
Have a look in this pic, a sign just in front of the rock bottom r/h corner and just about make out another by drivers door of (then) van.

We were not wilding - just parked up very early waiting for campsite just up the road to open - even so, several park rangers passed & didnt bother us so maybe they just ignore you ??

Thanks for this info, and great photo. I love this part of the Lakes, one of my favourite places. Think I will risk it in the end.
