Hi All

I have just driven to work over Pendle Hill and passed 5 MH parked in the layby at the top near the Wellspings Restaurant!

Just wandered if it was anybody off the site?

I drive this way every day and have never seen more than one parked at a time - did you experiance any problems?

I have been thinking about this today and I think 5 MH parked in one wild spot is too many???:(:(

Is this not the sort of thing that promts the councils to put up 'no overnighting' signs?:confused::confused:

It is after all just a layby by the road, maybe not so much of an issue if it was more remote?
The nick o pendle gets very busy at weekends with walkers etc and there is not a lot of parking anyway, so how do you think they will feel to find the best spaces taken up by 5 big MH? I think this is what gets locals grumbling:confused:

I am all for wild camping and am pleased people are coming to my area, and in fact have recommended this spot on this site - but that was for one van.

What do other members think of this?

Yep, i'd agree with that. I wont use a spot if someone's already there, unless it's late and i'm desperate. 5 is definitely too many.

I was there on Thursday night and left about 9.15 on friday morning .

I wasn't in a camper though , just a blue transit that I converted to a very basic day van .

While I was there I was visited by the local officer of the law and she told me that there was no restriction on overnight parking .

But if the locals were to complain I am sure there soon will be .

Beautifull place to stop though

Stopping Places

This is one of the disadvantages of posting wild camping spots on websites the get abused and the next thing is there are No Motorcaravan signs or height barriers if anorther motorcaravan is on a layby / stopping place we think hard and fast should we stop or not mostly we look for another spot I will PM a stopping place to anyone if asked. Even if not staying overnight more than one moyorcaravan stands out and the jobsworths reach for their notebooks.

I fully agree, if I pull in somewhere and there's more than one other van I'll move on and find another spot.

Thanks Guys

I do need to re-consider posting wild spots on here - Think I will just reply to PM's from now on.

It's people like this that spoil it for the rest of us!
