Hi, having just bought a couple of front ones myself, with some help from our members, I bought two off e-bay.
So the tyres I had were 10 ply commercial ones, plenty of tread. Took them down to be fitted at a friends garage, who promptly
said those are no good. they don't have camping on the side. He said look at those over there, I've just changed them for a M/home customer.
Plenty of tread but the side wall are cracking and only a year old. He explained that not all builders fit new tyres when they build a M/home. So
down the road with the constant weight of the fittings etc, this can cause prob's. All my original ones were Michelin camper tyres.
So I replaced them with the correct ones, raying particular attention to the load and speed grades etc. This does assuming that he is right,
raise the question of how would some
insurance companies view this situation if they were asked to pay up.
Having just had a friend had his
insurance cancelled after an accident, He now has five court cases to answer too, and lots of claims for three cars and injuries.
They are even doing his wife for lending him her car. It was a case of not informing them of a health change for which had just been resolved.
So to conclude I bought two 16 inch Michelin's for 167 pounds + vat. each. The perfect ones from e-bat were 50 pounds each.
Hope this helps. Rgd's Graham.
