Filling it is easy !
Just let nature take its course !
Emptying can get messy so be careful !

LOL, I walked into that one didnt I.
I mean the chemicals etc... (I assume you put chemicals in them?!?)

Cheers guys.

Didn't know chemicals were such a biggie, I'll do some research.

You don't actually need to use chemicals in them. Or the mega expensive special toilet paper they sell either! These are designed specifically to relieve normally wealthy motorhomers of a bit more of their disposable income. Just use normal paper, plain flush water and off you go. If you can keep number 1 out of there it helps keep the smell down. Or spray with febreeze when opening the blade.

If you are scratching around to obtain a loo on the cheap, you probably wont want to use expensive chemicals or fork out for special paper. If you want to use a chemical, I believe some people use dishwasher tablets which works our pretty cheap.

Cheers everyone.
I managed to pick one up for £25 with half a bottle of chem :)

Yeah Firefox, I am scratching around, very cash strapped at the moment (trying to do too many things at once is my issue here, house renovation and also making the homebrew camper our own). Thanks for the info too - by keeping number 1's out, I assume you mean number 2's (sitting down for a bloke)? The lav will NEVER be used for them lol

TBH I always said I wouldn't have a lav in the van, but as were planning more wilding and also many of the club meets we go to, the toilet is a good 10 mins walk away, I gave in!

I think it's easier to use a pee bottle(s) because that is easy to empty and it makes the loo last longer and smell less. But whichever way you do it, it's recommended to keep solid and liquid waste separate. Some people use a bucket and disposable plastic tie bags/sawdust for solid, and use the loo for pee ie the other way round to me. That makes the loo easier to empty. Lots of choices!

Never thought of that.
The mrs is the one who wants the lav not me lol. I think she is just bothered about number 1's....Ill advise her as its her job to clean it out etc.......
