If it is Calor, why not go to your nearest Calor dealer

Not sure about down south but up here in Scotland you can get empty bottles of any size or make FREE from your local recycling depot. They are only to happy to get rid of them.

ask your calor dealer to do an exchange, might be an idea to use the gas first

Gas bottles

You can swap bottles around for different size or gas.As you only pay for the gas, the bottle you have already got.I regularly swap different ones around for varios things at our caravan dealers..

Just swap it at your local Calour dealer, we swopped a 6kg blue for a 15kg red - No Problem, but like you say as yours is full it's a shame to hand in a full bottle.
Now if you were passing Northampton/Silverstone I would swop/exchange with you no prob's as I now use a 6kg on my BBQ and have spare 4.5 blue or 3.9 red which ever you prefere!!

Thanks for all those useful replies. Just been to local dealer and YES you were all correct we can swap any Calor for Calor. We may try to use up the 6kg - it does just about fit in - and we have just picked up 2 x 4.5kgs from local tip FREE OF CHARGE!! We have been using Camping Gaz 904 but these can't be swapped with other sizes and noone around here seams to stock these anymore. So managed to get a 907 from tip (FREE AGAIN and 1/2 full!!) so we will use this for now then sort out probably swapping the Butane for Propane.

FREE!!! From the tip!!??!! Where do you live, our tip wants money for anything and everything!!!
It sounds like you are very lucky and will spend more time at the tip than at the Calour Dealer... and why not!

We are just over the border into Wales near Chester. 1 tip wanted a fiver per bottle (tea money he said!!) but the other tip was just help yourself. With the small amount of gas we use if everyone dumps 1/2 full ones we could keep going for quite some time!! We are now looking to possibly convert water heater and fridge to gas so would near more gas then.
