Might soud daft but some of the wallpaper has come away in our van .

Is normal domestic wallpaper glue ok to repair or is there anything better to use?

Any advice welcomed

Not trying to be funny but you should be asking yourself "why" has the wallpaper come away. Just have a check that it isn't damp getting in from somewhere.
Resticking? Depends on the surface that the paper is on. Evilstick is good and is used to place the grey lining wall carpet; just be careful of the fumes when using it :D
I have used Solvite in the past but it can be very frustrating as the whole lot can drop on you without warning; usually when you think that it is all hanging well

usualy the wall paper is a plastic facing that is bonded to the thin ply that is used as the internal wall ,if the ply gets damp the covering can part company with the ply .you can usualy tell if you have damp as the ply can delaminate and feel soft to the touch. another cause can be when an owner gets fed up with the original covering or it gets grubby and papers over it,so if the covering is ordinary paper then the only way is either strip it back to the orig covering and repaint or restick it with evo. if its damp then you need to investigate where water is entering the van and reseal any joints that are near .if it is a window you can either take the whole frame out ,no that dificult or just run sealer round the frame on the outside i had water entering the van via the window i took the whole frame out and reseald it easy fix

Thanks guys , the main problem is in the bathroom , we put it down to condensation , there is also some near an airvent , I guess moisture could get in there ?.

The van is 2 years old and due a damp check , I will probably get it checked out bfore attempting repair

Hi Daveandjacqui,

If your van is only 2 years old then it should be sorted out free under warranty.

There will be at least a 5 year warranty if the dampness is coming in from the outside.

If condensation is causing this then the van is not fit for purpose. At least that is what you tell your dealer.

Also remember that it is the dealer who is responsible for any remedial work. Do not let them fob you off. I would be greatly upset if I had a 2 year old van with this problem, so get on to the dealer.

If you get no joy from the dealer you could Try Sticking it on with PVA Glue (£5 per Litre at B&Q) ,thats all boarder adhesive is , That doesnt usually fall off, however is very difficult to remore one dried. I have used it loads of times with no reported problems of paper falling off - However It was used in interor of houses.

He sounds like your average motorhome dealer.

Tell him that if you get no satisfaction, you will take it up with Trading Standards.

Also tell him you are a member of several motorhome online forums and you will name and shame him on the world wide web.
