Think its under the steering column part of the fuse box which is known for going faulty if your indicater is switched on what happens when you press the hazard switch ?

both indicator and hazard switch just result in the green warning light coming on solid, which makes me think relay

cheers for that Chris! mine's a bit different as there are only 2 relays in that location ,but one of them has to be for the flasher . got one coming at main dealer[ cheaper than car spares shop ] tomorrow so will see !

If you switch the hazards on it will ill illuminate solid and will go out when you remove the correct relay

cheers for the tip, what's confusing me is that all the googling i've been doing ,and looking in spares shops all mention 3 or 4 pin relays, and the 2 on the column are both 5 pin !i'll try that in the morning

That sounds similar to mine Nige. If you still have trouble let me know and you can substitute bits from mine :)

Dealer at Avonmouth? Give me a ring from there if it doesn't work, I'm only up the road then...

hi Steve, cheers for that- dealer's at st philips.
tried pulling the 2 relays on the steering column but the green light stayed on. will get the new relay this morning and hope it will give me some clues !
want the van to go to the weston air show at the weekend, maybe have to borrow the daughter's

Still might be the hazards switch try moving up and down or or thump it
good call Chris ! gave the switch a good telling off and the indicators are now working ,ta ! when i put the hazards on ,the relay now does furious buzzing and they won't flash, but i can live with that till i get round to removing and looking at the switch. cheers again
