Hi all
just a bit of info i picked up while vosa were doing a check on my wagon ect
talking to one traffic officer this coming season as he put it they are going to be pulling motorhomes/campervans as over the last few months they have pulled and done drivers for unsafe load ie bikes on bike rack wich were insurcure. and gross weight ie to much weight.
just thought id let you know in advance.

I don't think VOSA will have much joy because in my experience ,motorhomers are well up to date with the law and are very compliant.
They should be targetting overloaded caravans and underweight cars to pull these caravans. Also, have you seen some of these flimsy bike racks fitted to cars (hiding there reg. plates as well?).

I recall reading a report a few months back where they had pulled some Motorhomes onto a roadside check area, and were amazed just how many were over weight, some dangerously so. The trouble is that so many newer Motorhomes are so close to the weight limit unladen, that when the holiday parifinalia is loaded and the water tank filled it is much too easy to exeed the limit. If I remember correctly many of the over weight Motorhomes were permited to continue after draining thier water tanks.
