I use google analytics on this website and it tells me where of visitors come from (including town in some cases) and how many unique visitors we get.

I just checked the stats for the whole of 2010;

107,778 unique visitors came from 121 countries/territories

Wow!

Thats not pageviews (which is in the millions) or return visitors counted again.

Every time you connect to the internet you are allocated an IP address by the ISP you connect to. Most websites have a means of logging the IP address of people who visit it, so if you are connecting to the internet through a Spanish ISP then yes, you will be logged as being a Spanish visitor.

As a comparison, my site got 278,781 unique visitors last year, from 179 countries.
