Is it worth buying this new edition of aires in Spain. I heard the last book only had a few aires in it and most of those were poor sites, eg, supermarket carparks etc and only a couple of aires in decent places? They claim to have doubled the number of Aires in this new book. Does anyone have this new book? Is it easy to wild camp in Spain?

I think there is only about 6 in the Alicante area but i never use them there is always some were to park up as long as its not right on the beach,

you can just wait till you are over there .far cheaper . the language isnt a problem ,infact it helps you learn a few words . get a collins pocket dictionary . have fun ,i,m sure you will.

Talbort If your thinking of coming over and down this way let me know i can sort some places you can park thats safe.

I may well take you up on that. I can't pm you because it's only available to full members, but perhaps you can let me have your email so we can discuss it further. Thanks

I have the previous edition of Aires Spain and Portugal and found it to be very good on our last tour of Spain and Portugal, we used a lot of the places in the book, particularly in Portugal, so I would guess that a new edition would be well worth having.

The new edition of All the Aires Spain and Portugal has 76 entries for Portugal and 156 for Spain. There are also detailed listings for AutoGas filling stations in Spain and Portugal. It's not usually a problem refilling gas in Portugal but the Spanish listings will be useful to anyone with refillables or a bulk tank.

It's a few years since we spent any time in Spain but we didn't have any problem finding wild camping spots, specially away from the coast. Nevertheless I've got a copy of the new edition as we are probably off to Morocco next winter and will be spending a bit of time in Spain and Portugal on the way back in the spring. It's always useful to have a list of places where we can be sure of being able to park up for a night plus refill water and dump waste. The good thing about the Vicarious Books guide is the photos, so you can see what sort of a place you are going to.

There are a few discount codes for Vicarious Books around from time to time, this one: 'ukmoto' gives 5% off.
