Van has no waste container

Basically what it says on the title, we are headed to France in two days and I have only just twigged that we do not have one. Being a newbie it wasn't something I thought of checking for when we bought the van :sad:. The pipe simply puts the waste water on the ground which I know is not good so to make up for this is there anything I can do asap? My only idea is to put a bucket under the pipe to collect the water and therefore not get in trouble on the aires etc. Trust me to have detailed itineraries etc planned but forget to notice we don't have a waste water container!
 
Using a bucket to collect the waste water on aires or campsites will not be a problem, although your ability to wildcamp will be restricted because technically you are not allowed to have anything outside on the ground (you are parked, not camped on a wildcamp). But don't worry - France is covered in aires so you won't have trouble finding them (try CAMPINGCAR-INFOS ) Have a great trip.

we have a similar thing with our romahome ,we use a waste comtainer with a cap on the side so that it lays down under the camper ,it has another cap on the top to ease emptying ,it is great because if we are somewhere that we cant dump the water we can seal it up and carry it to the next air with a drain ,but a bucket is fine as long as you have somewhere to empty it where you are camping

you could buy a water hog which would slide under your van and it is on wheels so emptying is easier

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. We've routed the pipe that did go outside to what was our drinking water container and bought a new container for fresh water, seems to be working out so far. France tomorrow :D.

DONT forget to pick me up on the way im'e only little and i will do the washing up, and fetch the wine, and do the driving and all sorts of stuff if i can just stow away in the box under the bed ,onest guv :dance::fun:
 
Ha ha. If we stowed away all the people who offered to do our washing up etc I think the van would be full 10 times over, plus I need all the room I can get to store the wine I've been ordered to bring back from all and sunder. Thanks for the help MOS :D.

Have a wonderfull time and you are forgiven for not letting me stow away ,I wouldent take me and thats saying sumthing :eek:
 
You'll have ten times that for volunteers to stow away on the way back into the country!!

We got searched 2 yrs a go.
