Useless Information to amaze your friends

The shape of the Earth is not a sphere as is commonly thought, but is considered to be an oblate spheroid (a squashed sphere)

One of those useful pieces of information you can amaze your friends after drinking that bottle of plonk.

They will either be totally amazed or give you another bottle to shut you up, either way it's win-win!! :p

Absolute rubbish - the earth is flat and supported on the backs of four giant turtles. Is this what we do when we get fed up with word games then Pete?

Nothing worse than submitting a half finished hypothesis. What may I ask is the fourth turtle standing on ?

exactly

Its turtles all the way down -- ad infinitum.

Big P and JH are at it and Dezi has stuck his nose in, ME, I'm staying right out of it. I'll just sit here and have a good laugh.

You'll be telling me you're going to get 2 horses to tow ur MH Mr Luddite, if the Earth is Flat, how come there's so many up & down bits?

The maximum size of the space shuttle boosters was limited by the size of a horses ar*e.

Travel broadens the mind....

I can see that some of you have not been very far. :p:p

As the average age of say a green turtle is 80 years, is it that when one of the supports dies you get an earthquake?

Beware; THE END OF THE WORLD IS NIGH!

As far as travel broadening the mind, if you were worried that you'd fall of the end of the world, would you travel that far?

There's clearly a marked lack of scientific knowledge on this site. The four giant turtles are not standing on each other, there is one at each corner! As for what they are standing on, I thought everyone knew it was elephants.

Incidentally, the up and down bits are an optical illusion caused by breathing in too many of the gasses released by the turtles.

Anything else I can help you with?

PS Pete, the earthquakes are more to do with turtle farts than turtle deaths - tutles are immortal

Nothing to do with Vin Rouge?

Now if a mouse was to go by the elephants......................................

There's nothing in the world that isn't improved by vin rouge.

As for the mice, that would be silly - there's nothing for them to stand on.

Tutles might well might well be imortal, but what about these four turtles we are all reliant on ??

The reply Cream Carpet was a response to your statement "There's nothing in the world that isn't improved by vin rouge."

Prob lack of lateral thinking caused by said Vin Rouge, probably cooking version

Yup, I got that - but my attempt at humour in return obviously failed. There's nothing wrong with my lateral thinking - its the normal kind that confuses me.
