Instead of Italy we're off to morrow for Sweden. (It took only an aerthquake to have my beloved convinced not to go to Italy :rolleyes:)
This time we will go (I hope) towards the island Gotland in the Baltic. (these where also the plans for last year but then a gearbox came in between).
So you will be spared of the almost daily rubish of this Belgian for a few weeks ;):D
Keep you informed if I can find some wifi now and then, for we will be wilding most of the time.
Tot spoedig,:p

Have a good time. Does Sweden have midges as in Scotland? Post pictures when possible,

Only midges in the very north (inland Lappland and the end of the Botnian towards Finland):
you have to be stiched by them to get the 'come-back-disease' ;). (we got it:rolleyes:) The islands have a nice climate in spring and summer (I've been in Öland a few years ago and they boasted there to have more sunhours than the Côte d'Azur- in summer of course :p)

How long are you away for Leo? We are off on Friday, down to Cornwall., how I wish we were going to Sweden, but we have to be back for 27th for hubby to have a biopsy on Prostate .
I shall be taking my latest toy...a mobile broadband dongle, so I will try to keep up with the posts.
Have a good time in Sweden, stay safe.

Greetings from Gotland

Hi all,
Here I am back, at last. The first oportunity to have wifi for a month now in Sweden.:)
We first crossed the south of Sweden: Skane and then (again) to the island of Öland where we spend two weeks. Then we took the ferry from Oskarshamn to the island Gotland. We are now touring Gotland starting from Visby; which is a indeed a wonderfull medieval town (it has a complete 13th century citywall, not at all Swedish) Gotland is nice, really a delight in spring. It surely is worth the trip. Also the weather is nice: only 2 days of rain in more than 4 weeks; sunshine almost every day, temperatures about 22°C.
This moment we are on the only 'stälplats' on the island.
Will post pictures soon.

Hia
I thought Italy was at Easter????
Anyway Mr and Mrs Belgian enjoy yourselves in Sweden and we will most certainly look forward to hearing from you when you return

I'll go and read your thread now and I will probably read the answer:confused::confused:
Don't forget the pictures:D:D

Hi Polly,
Like I said, it only took an earthquake to convince the other-half to go to Sweden instead of Italy :D
We were 2 weeks on Öland (the island near Kalmar) where we have been 3 years ago. (Only to check the island didn't sink  It didn't).
Then we took the boat to the Island Gotland. Always wilding (still a paradise for that !) only the last days when we discovered the only 'ställplats, Stellplatz, aire'... on the island. A Gotland motorhomer who took the initiative to make one. I give the adress:
"Ställplats Sandkvie, Christian & Allan Larsson, Öja Sandkvie 173,
allan@sandkvie.com, www.sandkvie.com; 100SEK/10€/night, el: 30SEK/3€"
I'll soon post what I found on spots on Öland and Gotland. As the wifi signal is sometimes fading away pictures will have to wait.
By the way I surely can recommend Gotland for wilding. The nature is super in spring, the scene is lovely, the weather is allways sunny (they boast to have more sun-hours than the Côte d'Azur ! and that's OK to us) the people are gently, no fuzz or hassle (only 70,000 men on 3,100 km2- and 10 times more in july). We sure have a great time; and the dogs love it: every day another beach..)
I'll soon post my findings overhere.
Ha det så bra !
