Now that our MH's have been stood for a while, how long do you give it before you decide to move the wheels to avoid tyre distortion?

In an ideal situation I would have the wheels off the ground but circumstances prevent this.

I have removed my wheels and locked them in my workshop for safekeeping and it drops the van low enough to make the CAT bloody difficult to get to as there are some around that like cutting them off and taking them to their cousin's scrapyard for a few quid

I take mine up the street every 2 weeks to turn wheels and get gear oil up over the shafts seals and bearings, same with my back diff unit, also stops clutch plate sticking to flywheel etc,not realy good for the engine mind you but what can we do,there are more benefits doing this than down sides,my batteries is charged by solar so no probs there . :)

I also take mine for a run, up and down the road at the end of my street because it is into the countryside and a dead end after a few miles when it reaches the River Trent, the oil drains out of the fifth gear bearings on Fiats so I drive it long enough to pump it up over the bearings the same as Trev, I have never used fifth gear when I first leave home until the oil is circulating, as far as the tyres go my front drive gives me room to move backwards and forwards to change the footprint of the tyres

I always thought running the engine for short bursts was a massive no-no so haven't moved the MH for 2 months.

Will need to go to the shops this week so will take the MH instead of the car.
If I take Izzy she can do the shopping and I will stay in MH with engine running, this will be a 12 mile round trip and because Izzy will be doing the shopping the engine will be turning over for hours most likely!

Blast. Just realised the MH is on SORN, I guess it will be up and down the drive instead.

There is a kit to add an extra half litre of oil to g/box,its a little l shaped bend which goes into filler port on box and lifts the level about half an inch.

Motorhome CP tyres are deemed to have stronger side walls and higher tyre pressures to help alleviate the problem .but taking for a run is still a good idea.

Me too, I had to add a section to the hinges to get mine in and close the gates. So far it’s been out about 6 feet to allow me to open the garage door. But I have not sorned it, we will go for a pleasure drive as soon as we are permitted just to get the tyres worked and all moving bits de-spidered. In readiness I have in the last 2 days polished it and waxed it. Now it’s gleaming and I don’t want road dust to spoil it.

GATES....you have room for GATES??!!

Our deconfinement ended for us in France on Monday. Yesterday was my first time out In the car since 17th March. We had to drive 60km to collect something and on our trip saw 2 motorhomes
Looks like I’ll be taking ours out in a day or so, if only to fill up with diesel, which we saw yesterday was now just €1.08 a litre. First time it’s been under £1 for a long time.
