Been a long winter and will be nice to see the sun again but after yesterday it make me wonder if we should perhaps stay at home instead as it was warmer here than in Benidorm :lol-053:

SWMBO has been busy cooking some of her really nice meals for on the way down. Last year we did the same. We can get about 20 in the freezer in foil trays so when we arrive at an Aire its just a case of deciding what we fancy for the evening meal and putting the oven on. It does save shopping etc.

We always look forward to shooting off in the "van".
As soon as we set off, we are on holiday, no matter where the destination. 'er indoors likes her "convoy" rations, as she calls them, munchies for the road, but I like to stop and test/taste the local foods, so we might only have a few bits of chicken and frozen veg in the freezer on board, just in case. :)

Agree 100%, that’s why I have been away at least every 2 weeks to date this year.
I may just travel 40 miles up to Teesdale for a couple of nights but the scenery and peace and quiet work a treat to recharge my batteries.

We don't carry anything with us apart from teabags & bisto usually buy bread daily while away and shop as required

On our way south we usually manage on the contents of our home fridge and a couple of precooked meals for the drive through France.

At home again the contents of the fridge and frozen meals but often we decide to eat out, take aways or buy local produce and end up taking most back home again.
