Filled up with fuel in Morrisons Sheffield at 1820hrs on 7th September 2018, and was parked up in an Aire in Lille by 0550hrs on the Saturday 8th September.

This was the start to our two week tour of the Black Forest Germany and France.
Our trip took us to (in order) Lille, Malmedy, Trier, Sprendlingen, Heidelberg, Kappelrodeck, Strasbourg, Fraize, Guignicourt, Reims, Arras, Lens and back to Calais.

We drove, we walked, we cycled, we swam, we went by bus and by train. We only used camp sites for 4 days, the rest was Aires and Stellplatz.

We used buses and trains to get into the main cities (I have a "dirty" exhaust), but they were so cheap and convenient, it was well worth doing.
Often we are lucky to catch some event going on in the small villages, and we were treated to German oompah bands and festivals.

Only two or three locations were planned, Sprendlingen (Germany), for the Euramobil factory tour (well worth it) and purchase of new side stickers for the motorhome as one side has cracked considerably. Mulhouse (France) for the Schlumpf auto museum, my second visit, but with "er indoors" this time and she wanted to visit Strasbourg (France), what a beautiful place.

Also there was an auto museum in Reims, so we jumped on a train again, 19 Euros for the both of us return.

One of the surprises I was not expecting to see was a visit to the Museum of the Surrender in Reims, something we did not know about until we picked up a guide pamphlet from tourist information.

We bumbled back across France in the final days of our tour, stopping in small villages, and towns and remembering, those who died for us, and the equipment they used.

Our final stop over was in Lens in France, at an Aire near to the large stadium, but right next to Macdonalds, a bit noisy until about midnight.
