Just a word of warning for anybody using internet whilst out and about
and to make sure your home internet is secure.

Two arrested over wi-fi 'theft'

Two people have been cautioned for using people's wi-fi broadband internet connections without permission.
Neighbours in Redditch, Worcestershire, contacted police on Saturday after seeing a man inside a car using a laptop while parked outside a house.
He was arrested and cautioned. A woman was arrested in similar circumstances in the town earlier this month.
West Mercia Police said people with wi-fi should follow security advice given by their internet provider.
BBC Midlands Today's science correspondent, Dr David Gregory, said it was one of the first cases of its kind.
He added that if people were using someone else's network to enter illegal porn sites, for example, it would be very difficult to trace them.
The man arrested at the weekend was cautioned for dishonestly obtaining electronic communications services with intent to avoid payment. He attracted attention from neighbours in the early morning, as he had put up cardboard around his car windows but the light from his computer could be seen through the back window.

i listened to this debate on radio 2 today as graham called me to tell all about it,i was shocked & didnt even know it was illegal!!
it was an interesting debate & it makes you think twice

well i wont do it anymore as i didnt know it was illegal...i certainly dont want to get a crimanal record
that wouldnt go down too well with my work!!
mind you there are still plenty of people who will use them....but people should secure their network ...better safe than sorry ;)

My friend I spent some 11 years in the Royal Navy. I have had training in all sorts of chemical war fare. If you want to extract the urine then thats up to you. Cheap shots are not my thing. I don't hack others WIFI no need to this for infomation to let others know that it is possible and illegal. Thank for your concern but I will not be gassed unless it's through alcohol consumption.

Save it for the jokes thread then. And I didn't say which department in the RN I worked for so don't make assumptions.I suggest you read into kolokol-1 works in seconds and knocks you out for up to 6 hours.

Im sorry the joke went over your head.

Have you done a check on the availability of Kolokol-1 or the price or didnt your Google search point that out ?
It isnt worth paying the earth for exotic gases if the loot you are stealing is cheaper than the gas you are buying, and assuming your average thug could even find a suppiler for the stuff he wouldbt have the faintest idea how to use it, and if he did, dont you think he would pay a bit more attention to robbing rich people rather than people in motorcaravans? not to mention the logistics of using such an exotic gas, protective gloves, masks, piping.
Were not exactly talking about MENSA graduates doing these jobs you know?

My point is that there is a gas that can knock you out thats what i have been saying.

 how the hell did we get from nicking someones wi-fi to being gassed AGAIN

A think this is it.

It is relatively easy to "crack" the 24 digit security codes that people use to guard their WiFi. All it takes is the right software and a bit of time.
I am on wireless Broadband at the moment and if I go to see who else is within range and I can find three unprotected networks.
It's all a bit of a shame really. The Internet companies tell people to protect themselves but they don't seem to bother
