hi all on closer inspection i thought i had one large battery it turns i have 2 small wired together have put multimeter on them and show 11.5 v this is when hooked up to elec does that sound right help required cheers all
Separate the batteries leave for about an hour then recheck voltage, if one of the batteries is at least 1 volt lower, that battery may be a knacker, if they are both about 11.5volts, then it sounds like they need a good charge, make sure they are both topped up to the correct level with deionised water, (under £1 a bottle). "not boiled water"
When charging from mains or the engine the voltage should be about 14+ volts.
thankyou for replies have spent this morning cleaning all connections and now have better readings will keep an eye on things thankyou for thoughts what would i do without you all cheers john and shakey jakey
Yep, as others have said, either one or more batteries are knackerd; or the charger's not working, as you should have a float voltage of 13 - 14.2 volts when plugged in or with the engine running at fast idle.
i have tried taking the batteries out of compartment but quess what i cant get them out surely cupboard wasnt build round them if anybody has swift kontiki and batteries are next to gas cupboard i have a lift up hatch but cant take it off it looks as if heater components are in the way of turning batteries to get out anyone help cheers john
