Turkey? Anyone been this year?

Hello
As we are now in Greece, we would like to visit Turkey.
We have been before in a van but not since the 80’s when we felt extremely safe.
Is it wise today? Has anyone had recent experience?
We would expect to travel no further south than Bodrum but would also like to go to Istanbul.
Are we reckless or should we do it?

Not this year.

Like you we have visited several times in the past, but under president Erdogan authoritarian leadership the Country is less tolerant and therefore less safe.

We will not be returning any time soon.
