Hiya all.Has any one had a turbo conversion, what did it cost? Thanks.

depends on what make and model of engine, somtimes its just as easy to swap the whole engine.Vw are quite intercangable my van is a good example was a 1.7d non turbo now has a 1.9TDI(they use the same block)
is there a turbo and or a direct injection versions of your engine

dont know of a turbo conversion for my old cf, but the custom boys most popular mod was a jucy rover v8 in them but i think i will stick with the old 2300 lump he he

hi mandrake the one you want for bedford if i remember rightly is the 2.3 turbo from a vaxhall carlton or i have seen them with the 2.5 transt engine in hope this helps.

yes i have heared that the carlton engine will fit quite easily, and having owned a few carltons in the past can quite see the posibility of a straight forward swap. also the tranny one will go in without too much trouble, the mention of e rover v8 was a bit of fun as i dont think a coach built cf will handle too well with one in,but it would sound well:D:D also i think the drum brakes will stuggle a bit :eek:. thanks

Very good point about the brakes but you can always put the disc brakes on yours off a cf 2

that what i am intending to do at some point, if i dont decide to get another van. as we are intending to have an extended break for next summer, we would like to go semi full time or even full time for the summer and then in the winter, mabey over winter on a site or rent a small flat working as and when we need to. we will see.
