Truma Ultrastore problem

It worked fine on hookup, but at Malvern on gas it did not. Sometimes it worked as it should, but most of the time not. When I turn the dial it goes green then thumps after while it goes red and thumps. Outside if you listen at the vent, it is continually clicking as if trying to relight. Anyone know of a gas man within 25 miles of Maidstone, who is good and reasonable priced. Gary

That's the fan that's gone! We had the same problem after a proper caravan place repaired it we still had the problem and they couldn't fix it! So we had to go to Truma in Derby who sorted in an hour, it took us 3 hours to get there!

Sorry, but sounded the same as our problem. Our Truma (don't know what model it is) heats water and does heating.

It could be the 12v is too low to power it? - that's what happened to us, we managed to have either the lights or heater on if I remember rightly !!!

Just checked , the leisure battery is reading 13.2v and I turned the dial on and clunk, green. 30 seconds later another clunk and now green and red. Tried the thermostat high and low same result, red light

Truma Ultrastore has no fan, it's just a straight water heater. Truma Combi has a fan and is a combined water/air heater. Would you rather go to a gas registered repairer or fix it yourself ?. You'll find lots of info around here if you want to DIY.

Ultrastore

Had same prob with mine few years back, was main circuit board fault!
Easy to replace but almost £100 to buy from dealers! but if u look on net may find one half that price. Good luck

It could be the igniter but it sound as though the thermocouple is faulty, if it does not detect a flame it shuts down the gas valve, that is the clunk you hear. It is best to get it checked or you could end up paying for parts you don't need.

I never had mine apart so don't know if it is a simple job to get in to check it out yourself. :anyone:

Thanks for the replies, The thermacuplar was mentioned at Malvern. All I need is someone now who can check it out for me, who prices I don`t need a loan for, lol

I have the same boiler in my mh. I even replied to a thread
on here somewhere I had exactly the same problem that
you are mentioning here I took mine apart and believe me
it's a very easy job you don't need professional help
I cleaned the base out where the ignitor and burner is
with a hand brush and a Hoover at this point I connected the
base part back up to make sure gas was going through
it wouldn't light of the switch so I used a lighter to make
sure it would stay lit which it did so I assembled it all
together and put it back in it works every time now so I
take it that the jets on the burner just needed a good cleaning
