I went to switch the gas heater on yesterday. The light on the thermostat dial which normally shows green/orange was showing red. I turned it on and off a couple of times with no success
then nothing (ie no lights at all). Checked and found the fuse blown. Replaced the fuse and still nothing. Completely dead. Have I blown the heater up ?

Hi fairytooth I think there's a pcb on the boiler, is there a seperate fuse in the pcb similar to central heating boilers.

John.

Thanks for the info guys. There are 2 fuses on the heater and the 6.3T main device fuse had blown. On checking further the problem lies with the combustion fan which needs replacing (£150 + labour). Unfortunately the whole heater needs to come out for that.

The Truma help line were helpful telling me from my original info that the problem would be one of the 2 fans or the PCB.

Yes, but thanks for the check. The fridge was working fine on the gas when I went to check the heating before a run. I've now had it confirmed as the combustion fan at fault.

Combustion Fan - All Fixed and working again

Thanks for all your help and suggestions peeps. It was the combustion fan that had failed. Replaced today and I'm back in business again.

I used South Coast Leisure Services and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Excellent service by a Truma trained engineer for a sensible price.
