Hi Tony,

I think it was mentioned on the other thread that you can go to the Truma website for help and information.

They should also have a list of authorised service and repair agents. If you find the one closest to you, they should give you a price for the job.

Truma boiler problems

I don't know what your symptons are, but I had trouble last year, the boiler stopped working on gas whilst OK on elec'. I phoned Truma HQ & spoke to John Tregay the head engineer & he said "an insect has got in through the flue & is restricting the air supply to the burner & will have to be returned to Truma to be fixed". So being a 'clever clogs', I decided to try to dislodge it myself. I rigged up a compressed airline & a small bore vacuum line & stuck these through the flue & gave it a blast, the result being that the burner lit but with a yellow flame & clouds of black smoke. I phoned John Tregay again & he more or less said "I told you so" & told me to get it out & send it to him.
Having a small A/S Symbol, removing the boiler was quite a feat, I had to dismantle the bed box to get it out, but disconnecting the water, gas & elec was simple enough.
I packed it up & sent it off to Truma who serviced it & fitted a new burner & they returned it less than a fortnight later, they even enclosed the old burner to show me the spiders web inside which was built away from the flames in the air inlet, so no wonder it wouldn't burn out.
Truma charged me £73.79 which included £10 return carriage.
I remember that on a trip late last summer, I parked close to some bushes & thats probably when the spider came aboard for a warm up.
I now always make sure that the outside cover is on when I'm not using gas.
