Hi Guys hope you can help, we're currently in Bavaria and our boiler is playing up resulting in us having to take cold showers which I suppose isn't too bad in the current weather being in the 30, s.
We have a 2015 truma Bge 10 over the last few weeks the boiler has gradually taken more attempts to stay lit, What's happening is the boiler is firing up first time and staying lit for about 30 secs then I can hear a very rapid clicking noise from the cowl outside then the boiler trips out and the red light comes on, gas seems ok as cooker hob flames are normal etc, were here for another 4 weeks any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not familiar with this model, but on my old Truma combi I sometimes had to reset my boiler due to gas lockout. I had to reset the boiler by holding in a reset switch on the pcb until a yellow light appeared at that point I released pressure and the boiler worked fine after this. Another possibility could be a faulty thermocouple. If your system does not have a reset switch then completely remove electrical supply for ten minutes min, then re supply, this may reset the boiler. But if it’s a faulty thermocouple it will need to be replaced, cleaned or reset towards pilot flame.

Here’s a short video on resetting after gas lockout

On many MoHo gas appliances there is a thermocouple which sits in the pilot flame.
If the pilot goes out the thermocouple cools off and closes the gas supply to the device, thus avoiding gas entering the vehicle but not being lit.

It sounds to me like you have a thermocouple issue.

Usually this means
a) the thermocouple has failed and needs replacing
b) the thermocouple has been physically moved out of the flame and needs moving back into it.

The latter is surprising common.

Good luck.

I had a Similar problem on my gas heater, I fitted a new thermocouple to repair it as other have suggested. £5 on ebay

I’m only posting this as I had a similar problem, I mistakenly assumed that the warmer I kept the unit the better so I kept hi viz coats on and around the unit and it kept cutting out, I was looking for a solution and found one without knowing when I removed all the insulating coats it’s worked fine from then on.
