Hi, anyone ideas of what to see or do near Lucerne. Passing by on route to Croatia via Italy in May.

You could detour to Interlarken and go up the Jungfrau. Or just visit Lucerne for a bit of sightseeing.

We enjoyed a ride to other lake side villages on the lake cruiser ? Its was just like a bus pulling in at most villages lake side at one stop Vitznau we had a rack an pinion train up the Rigi not a high mountain but some good views

Town itself is lovely as is the lake but agree with above about Jungfrau valley. If you can make a diversion its too good to miss. Nice little ASCI site (Rutti I think) right at the top of the valley.

In carpark at Brunnen caught the ferry there we where lucky the man in the kiosk on the pier spoke English and was very helpful. We had a 48hr pass that covered train and boat + a discount on the mountain train. On his advice we took train to Lucerne and boat back

There is a lovely Farm campsite a bit like a large CL with lovely views not far from Lucerne town at Weggis (about 10 miles from the town). Loved it there.
