travellers on French aire

hi has any one been to ( honfleur France ) lately only read on some forum that travellers had taken over the site .

Hi again Syldale.
Last year we along with about thirty mainly French M/H's stayed on an aire with about a dozen travellers and we had no problem at all
But each case has to be treated by the particular circumstances.

hi ***** hear what you are saying but when we go away on a trip we don't want to be worried to leave the m/h with equipment left out going for a walk we have seen first hand the cheek some of these people have especially when WE have paid 8. 9. or 10 Euro s and they pay nothing P.S that is what happened to the toilets block at honfleur the council took it down to discourage them from coming

I'm a bit surprised that the French Police haven't got involved.
This is the big argument against us having an Aires network in the UK

hi hogan that's a shame it is a lovely place to stay i bet the shopkeepers are upset because the travellers will not spend the same money as tourist do . someone told me they was free camping on la mange strip about 5 of them in m/hs not caravans they was just throwing rubbish out of the door and the kids was urinating all around his m/h so my friend was off just as he was going the police came to them these stories worry us

I was there in April & If I'm honest I couldn't tell you if they were travellers or not! They didn't appear to be to me thought! There was no additional vehicles or furniture outside, no kids playing nothing stored outside? I would be very suprised if they were! I'll be going back in September!

Was there first week in August and Circus was there, but that's as close as it got when it came to travellers!! Was there for 4 days and no hassle at all.
