Uptil fairly recently we used the free travel insurance cover issued by Nationwide for flexi account holders and
and just topped it up for existing, old age, problems. Wet rot, wood worm etc.
Nationwide have now stopped doing this cover, so I am looking around for a replacement.
any recommendations ?
I have tried for quotes from staysure etc, but not to impressed at first look.

We still use the Nationwide Flexplus account, its still cheaper for us even with the monthly fee.
I rang them two days ago for a quote and was informed that Nationwide had ceased providing it.

Appears that I need a flexiplus account. Plus being the the important word.
It costs £13 pound a month which is still cheaper than the yearly quotes I had received
from Staysure etc.

Our world wide multi trip annual travel insurance for the pair of us is over £1500 pa.

Lots of medical problems and in our 70s .....Nationwide refused to cover us even for an extra payment.

My NatWest Premier Black account covers us. There's a £31 monthly fee but you can get £10 per month back in rewards.

There are other benefits such as UK and European breakdown cover.

We have Cooperative bank account which includes travel insurance up to 79 years. Limit on time away (31 days ? I think) which is not extendable. Also includes uk&Europe breakdown and phone insurance. £15 charge month but can get cashback about £7.50 month , so comparable with just travel insurance or just breakdown. Phone insurance a bit superfluous but it is part of included cover.

Been looking around today Avanti £1281 single trip not for 90 days, Total Travel Protection 90 days £387 still looking don't need it till may, Got break down on Nationwide Flexplus they stop doing my travel insurance when I was 70 10 years ago the joys of getting old

I thought our joint £138 LV Europe multi trip annual and both of us with medical conditions was expensive so was planning on looking elsewhere soon

LV here as well. Always come out cheapest for us for Europe multi trip. Mrs GMJ has some declarable stuff as well which doesn't load the premium very much at all.

Only 1 medical problem between us. Me with controlled blood pressure.

Seems Nationwide Flexplus would be worth a closer look, also get breakdown and mobile phone cover. £13 a month.
There are additional charges for being over 70 and health related additional charges too.

THIS link gives details.

Tim Nationwide don't insure over 70s they put you on to another company

I'm covered under my bank account (RBS) until I'm 70, but a relative was praising the Civil Service travel insurance - she isn't and never was a civil servant, but apparently they'll cover anyone who's ever worked in any public sector job. Both she and my uncle had pre-existing conditions, and they were both the wrong side of 70. Can't ask her now how much she paid but it sounded cheap for the cover she had.

I think I had 45 days with co-op?
Can't remember if that was an extended time period .
Paid extra for age and/or health conditions

Ours was Essential £138,25 and Premier £181.57.

Mine the same as yours controlled blood pressure but the wife`s problems are all Arthritis orientated including 2 joint replacements and another one due soon o_O

Might just end up paying privately for that though with the way things are now

So why have I been quoted over twice as much.

You got blue eyes or sommat?

Nationwide use UK Insurance, have just changed from flex to flex plus, £350 wife 86 me 85 with 90 day worldwide cover along with breakdown etc.
With quite a few health problems. 👍👍👍👍
Co op quoted £2015 -00 I don't think they wanted to know me even after being with them for many years think they were taking piss🤔🤔

still looking don't need it till may,

We always get insurance the day we book the break.
That way w are covered for cancellation by yourself between booking and holiday.

We canceled two days before holiday in Cuba because MiL's Doctor didn't think she would last the week. Full refund from insurance.
(MiL lasted another 5 years ).

Also our multi trip insurance includes MoHo and hotel holidays in UK if we book in advance.
