Does any one know about gas fires. I replaced the gas feed pipe to the gas valve as the old
One had corroded. Now it will not light it's got gas to the gas valve. Got a good spark.
Cleaned jets and burner gauze. It's the traumatic with the battery igniter in 1994 hymer.
The flue is clean igniter is posisitioned correctly.

what gas are you using ,if butane that might be the cause, if you listen carefully can you hear the gas coming through when you press down on the knob, you mentioned you cleaned the burner gauze was this in perfect condition any damage or missing bits can cause problems although the pilot light should still light, seems like a gas problem

If you are getting gas and a spark you should hear a woosh noise as it ignites. Are you allowing the flame failure to heat up before releasing the downward pressure on the knob? You should be able to see the flame through the mica window.

I'm using lpg from a calor gas bulk tank outlet. I can not hear any gas from the jets.
The burner gauze is good. Is it possible to clean and lubriicate inside the gas valve.

I am not even getting the pilot to light. Just a spark.

A while back I had some trouble with the gas fire. Read through it, May give you a hint.http://www.wildcamping.co.uk/forums...a-3200-heater-repair.html?highlight=Teutone's

P.S. after the new thermocouple was installed it stopped working a while later. I had to retighten the collar nut a nudge and all was fine

I have read the link in your post my igniter seems to be sparking. And the flame sensor wire is not
Brittle. There is gas to the inlet of gas valve but does not seem to come out of pilot light jet.
Jets are clean.

Can you see the actual spark hitting the burner at the right place?
The thermocouple is only producing a tiny current, make sure the connectors are all clean and tight.

I think I've found the fault. On top of the gas valve where the rod presses down on the black plastic
Housing inside there is a plunger whitch moves up and down to cut gas on and off. This needed repositioning . I've just got to reassemble it now.

I must admit that I was amused by you calling it a TRAUMA gas heater.

I hope your Truma is soon working and your Trauma is over.

If it makes you feel better, it was 5 degrees C in the Algarve , this morning .

Fingers crossed for you !
