towing a motorcycle

has anyone on here towed a motocycle on a trailer, i have been looking at the motolug system, which is a knockdown trailer for storage and when looking at it in the pickering motorhome show i was told that the van aiken trailer that had air suspension, that the air bags collapse whilst towing causing the bikes to go over anyone else heard this. the motolug seemed a good trailer as the front wheel of the bike locked into a bracket and stood up whilst it was strapped down. anyone got one of these.

sorry, I saw the title and my first thought was "wouldn't it fall over"

I'll get me coat ;)

Bikes

I always take a mobike with us on trips.
Either a BMW on a trailer or more recently a Peugeot Looxor [100cc] scoot on the pull out bike rack.
The trailer you are looking for is the "Treales"
Treales Trailers :: Motorcycle Trailers - the foldaway motorcycle trailer is a quality engineered, robust and yet easy to assemble piece of equipment.
Better by far than the motolug as it's the one AA and all other recovery companies use. It is expensive tho' the phrase "built to last" comes to mind. Also you can load safely single handedly, as the wheel cradle rolls to end of traiiler, you push [or ride :D] your bike on till it locks, put it in neutral and wind the bike onto the trailer..

That trailer is an ERDE PM310, great trailer but be sure to change the original crap metal sided wheel bearings to rubber sealed type [ I did over 100.000 miles towing that trailer ]

Now to cut ferry fares, ease of using Aires etc. Looxor only weighs 100kgs so is well within 200kgs load capacity of 660's rack.:)

Also we now use a box van trailer on 4 wheels when taking a full size bike as it's safer and your Preciousness is away from prying eyes and meddling fingers.
Especially when we take my R90s...

I'm not trying to teach folk how to suck eggs but First thing with a bike behind a M/H is to get a rear view camera fitted, to keep an eye on the trailer [invisible in mirrors] and straps.
I always use Carabiners to fasten my straps as there is no chance of them [unlike hooks] bouncing out of fastenings.
