tour of england and scotland

t&s

Just returned from a tour of England via the Lake District and western Scotland up as far as Fort William returning via Perth and the A1 back south
We used two stops recommended to us by a fellow member both were good
We also found so many spots to wild camp to many to list. The choice is endless and they don’t take much looking for
The Oban area was rife with midges people were walking around with nets over there heads some weird sort of holiday that is
The best repellent for midges is don’t go there at this time of year
and yes they did drive us away
Fuel varied from £1.36 to £1.24
The 1300 mile trip cost £260 for fuel about twice what it would
cost a few years ago I think
Seeing this was our first tour of this country for 20 years or so not much has changed motorways are bigger and longer trees are higher blocking all the views
And it is worth noting that most Tesco and Asda have now had towns built near by where you can visit such interesting places as pound shops. Charity shops. Estate agents .and recycle points all towns seem the same
Still we done it and wont do it again we both prefer the continent
dispondent t&s

Sorry to hear of your dispondance, any plus points?, pics, etc..
