My husband and I have just returned from a 4 day trip to Northern Ireland to visit my parents.
The coast road is a must as it has the most beautiful scenery and some really good car parks. We did find that the closer we got to Portrush and Portstewart (the 2 main holiday resorts) that there were more signs up saying no camping overnight and they had height restriction barriers. The 2 places I did find however that were campervan friendly were as follows. The park and ride car park for the Giants Causeway. Free parking, no height restrictions and there's even toilets! There were about 8 other motorhomes on the 2 nights we spent there.
Then there is the marina car park in Glenarm. There's no toilets or water available but it's free and beautiful. Besides these there are hundreds of laybys which are safe and hassle free. Please feel free to ask for any further information.

There are toilets at glenarm over the bridge through the playpark,or you could have used the other big c/park facing the sea right beside the loos, only open at daytime though.
there are loos at ballycastle to up behind the boat to rathlin service but there old and small, also parking along front oposite the big hotel before marina carpark.
I do hope you had a good time.
I will also say from my trip past g/causway today 26/8 that the council have yellow lined the road for a mile past it so no skipping the main pay & get robbed car park, though there is a farm yard just up rd open for biz

We did the Antrim coast drive several years ago and stayed in various places. Perhaps the quietest was Balintoy Harbour - very little there but we arrived late afternoon and used the cafe. Said we fancied staying the night and were told you're not supposed to. No signs so we stopped and had a really quiet night with hardly a soul in sight. There are toilets but don't recall if they were closed at night.
